Security options
The Security widget enables you to set user security options for the mobile app.
Table 18 lists the available security options along with their descriptions.
Settings | Description |
---|---|
Allow credentials to be saved on device |
If this field and Passcode Enabled are set to Yes, and the user selects Keep me logged in, the user's password is saved on the device. The user enters a 6-digit passcode to log in. After the Time Between Logons elapses, the users must enter their passwords to log in. |
Time Between Logons |
This field determines the amount of time (in hours) that will elapse after initial login before a user must enter a password. The user password is required after the specified time elapses, regardless of the settings for Allow credentials to be saved on device and Passcode Enabled. For example, suppose you set a value of 1 for the Time Between Logons setting and select the Yes option for the Passcode Enabled setting. A user logs in, uses the mobile app for 10 minutes, closes the app, and puts the device to sleep. If she opens the mobile app again before an hour elapses, she must only enter her 6-digit passcode. If she opens the mobile app 50 minutes later, she must enter her password instead of her 6-digit passcode. |
App Inactivity Timeout |
This field determines the amount of time before the application times out and requires a password (if Keep me logged in is not selected on the login screen) or passcode (if Keep me logged in is selected) before accessing it again. For example, if the application is open and a user takes a phone call for less than the time specified, upon returning to the mobile app, the application is running and the current patient record is still available. If you take another phone call and it is longer than the setting in this field they are asked to enter a passcode or password upon returning to the mobile app. |
Passcode Enabled |
This field determines whether a user is allowed to use a 6-digit passcode to unlock and access the mobile app after exiting it. If the Yes setting is selected, passcode use is enabled. The next time they open the app, users can enter their 6-digit passcodes instead of entering passwords to log in to the app. If the No setting is selected, users must enter their passwords when they open the app. Users cannot lock the app when Passcode Enabled is set to No; instead, they are logged off when the app times out, and must login when they restart the app. Note: If Passcode Enabled is set to
Yes, the user can lock the device by
tapping Lock on the main menu (regardless of
whether Keep me logged in is selected).
